SCOPE
What this service covers.
Only the work we actually do — no padded list. If you are not sure whether your job fits, send a photo and we will tell you straight.
Western red cedar
Cedar pickets on treated or steel posts — the better choice where the fence is seen and stained.
Treated pine
Pressure-treated pine where the run is long, the budget is tight, or it is a utility fence behind a shop.
Any height, any style
Four-foot dog-ear to eight-foot board-on-board, flat top or cap-and-trim.
Steel posts under wood
Galvanized steel posts behind the pickets where you want wood looks with posts that do not rot.

Why people call about this.
You are not sure which wood
We lay out cedar and pine on the same quote so the difference is in dollars, not sales talk.
The posts rotted before the boards
Wood posts in wet clay go first. Steel posts or proper concrete fix the cause, not just the symptom.
The run is long and the budget is not
Treated pine on a back or side line keeps cedar for where people actually look.
ATHENS, TX
Wood Fence (Cedar & Pine) in Athens: what’s different here.
Athens is the Henderson County seat, a town of about 12,900 people (2020 census) at the crossing of US-175, SH-31 and SH-19, roughly 60 miles southeast of Dallas. It calls itself the Black-Eyed Pea Capital of the World, is home to Trinity Valley Community College, and has the 1,800-acre Lake Athens on its east side, with Cedar Creek Lake to the northwest. The City of Athens requires a permit for any new or replacement fence (8-foot maximum, smooth side out along a right-of-way, and drive gates in side or rear fences need an approved drive approach and curb cut), and on Lake Athens the Athens Municipal Water Authority separately permits structures built on its shoreline property.
Fence in Athens
An Athens fence needs a city permit even for a replacement, has to go smooth side out where it faces a street and stay at 8 feet or under, and on wooded lots the run has to be cleared around pines and hardwood roots, with posts set through the sandy topsoil into the firmer clay below.
The ground
Athens sits where East Texas begins: sandy loam over dense clay subsoil, with deeper sands toward the east of the county and pines and hardwoods along the fence lines, so posts dig easily at the top but need concrete deep enough to bear on firm ground below the sand.
Homes and lots
Older bungalows and cottages near downtown, 1960s–1990s ranch houses in established subdivisions such as Southwood, lake homes on Lake Athens including the gated Oakwood community, and wooded acreage out on the county roads.
