GATE FINISHING
Gate Painting & Powder Coating in Corsicana, TX
Texas sun takes the color out of a black gate in a few summers, and wherever the paint cracks, rust starts — first at the welds and the bottom rail. A finish only lasts as long as the prep under it, so the work is mostly getting back to clean steel: loose paint and rust taken off, bare spots primed, then a fresh coat. Paint can be done with the gate on its hinges. Powder coating is baked on, so the gate comes off and goes to a coating oven — a harder finish that is worth it on a new gate or a full restoration.

Faded, chalky paint is no longer protecting the steel.
